Equally diverse was exhibited at Made in RO, Romanian design fair, on the 6th and 7th of April 2019, and at Fusion Arts Expo 2019 on the 10th and 11th of May 2019.
This project is the result of the search started with Community lights and is meant to show part of the complexity of the interactions in a community. Through Equally diverse, I decided to focus only on the diversity that one can find in a community. The objects in this series are varied as external form, shape and color, but are made from the same rope. Like people look different but have the same genetic structure. What’s more, the lamps are alike by something more that their materiality. They are similar through the light they shine, like humans are alike through this one trait found only in us… humanity.
I also did a series of lamps Equally diverse, which started from the idea of Two ropes – two art objects exhibited at BIAMT in Timișoara, Romania between 25th of October and 15th of November 2018.
Two ropes. Depending on how they are netted, they end up as different objects. Although identical in the beginning, they are unrecognizable in the end. Only in the night they find themselves alike. In the darkness is where they truly bloom. The light shows the truth and their differences get them closer to their core which is the same… rope.
I took part with the series of lamps Equally diverse at Made in RO between 24th and 25th November 2018.
