…behind any spiritual man…
During service at a Vipassana center, I read a book about the life of the teacher of Sayagyi U Ba Kin who was Goenka’s teacher. U Ba Kin learned anapana from Saya Thetgy about whom it was written in that book that following the killing of two of his children he left his family to find a spiritual way to deal with his grief which was unbearable for him. He left his wife to deal with the estate and family. She and her younger sister supported his spiritual search financially, but upon his return he didn’t bother to pass by and say thanks, he only visited when he needed something. However, in the book the women are portrayed as being in the wrong for getting upset with him…
The Buddha also left his family and duties to find himself. His wife remained to do everything he didn’t have envy to do, but he is the great one.
Buddhists are conducting a genocide against muslims and other minorities in Myanmar (U Ba Kin and Goenka’s native country), since 2016 btw. Guess they quit practicing Vipassana or Metta at least.
Jesus’s mother was raised in a temple until 12 years old, though some would have us believe this is just a myth with no historical evidence, because the existance of Jesus has so much historical evidence from all the people witing stuff about him years after he supposedly lived qnd who might have been there or not. We only have their word for it
Sadhguru’s mother was a diligent practitioner of japa. His wife was also a highly spiritual person, though Sadguru low key diminishes that by claiming her achievment came from powerful emotions.
Emotions are bad in spirituality. We do not cry here.
Goenka’s mother was the one who was a Vipassana practitioner way before he took up the practice and who introduced him to U Ba Kin.
About Krishnamurti’s mother:
His mother, Sanjeevamma, was deeply religious, a woman whose spirituality transcended the rote performance of rituals. She believed in visions and mystical experiences, planting early seeds of wonder in Krishnamurti’s impressionable mind.
His father used to beat him for being to sickly and contemplative.
This is why I believe women are inately spiritual. Men need to learn, that’s why the spiritual practice are for men. Women don’t need this crap. I also do not find those practices making men egoless …quite the contrary… Unfortunately, women are being constantly deprived of thier native spiritual connection by men who have constructed a society against humanity and life itself.
L.E. I got distractes by Krishnamurti’s mother, and forgot to mention that the Prophet Muhammad was also supported by his first wife, who also proposed to him, not the other way around “as it has always been”.
