Scientific method. Part II. Projections

I just came accros an example of how scientific the predictions of dinosaur behaviours are, which made me laugh. Basically, scientists take a species which seems similar to the dinosaur they are studying and cherry picking the traits of that specied which they think would fit the dinosaur. Great. Projecting a behqviour which takes place in a fundamentaly different context just because it is familiar.

This is how we ended up with the idea that humans used to be more violent than they were today. Same projection. And for the sake of evolution it had to seem like we got better, but that is an illusion. Obviously we are more violent today, and also dettached from our violence due to not having to kill directly, but even so, what’s happening in Israeli prisons show how vile we can be today. I don’t think people used to kill for no reason. I don’t think any other animal kills for fun …maybe felines, but I don’t know how closely related we are to them. I do not believe humans are violent genetically. However, this world has evolved into something where violence is the baseline. Every modern society is dominated by fear. It seems like we are less violent in certain parts of the world, but that’s just because the violence isn’t physical. It is emotional and psychological where there seems to be peace. That’s why there is such an increase in mental health issues. It’s not that our ancestors didn’t have time to be depressed, it’s that they weren’t undergoing the same psycological abuse we are facing.

So yeah, we are most likely coming from a more peacefull civilization to a more violent one. The contrary idea comes from the “scientific method” of projecting something familiar on something unfamiliar. So, more fairy tales. And if only that was all, but I am sure those “scientists” are misleading the narrative on purpose…
